In any relationship, when you are not getting what you think you need, it is for you to be clear with the other party what you want.  It is not within your control to create for the other.  You can only be clear about what it is you expect.  When you have expectations that are not being met, it is for you to convey as well as possible, what exactly you think you want. 

If this communication has transpired and you still do not have what you want, or in other words, you are in a painful situation (one that brings you something other than joy), it is time to reevaluate what you think you want.  It is also important to evaluate what you know from this experience, to be what that other can actually give.  You cannot change the other, only you. 

When you find that you are more often in pain than joyful, about this relationship, you can only change your own perspective.  Sometimes this means to move on, by going forward and releasing this person and their energy.  It is for you to choose what you want to feel in each and every encounter with another.
