Mark, I have listened to the Abraham CD's twice now [she's referring to another channeled group www.abraham-hicks.com ]. It states that we attract what we are liken too. But how can we help others and Friends who are depressed and negative? [Jovius] By setting a positive example and choosing to focus on that which can influence them in a way that is at a bigger vibration than they are currently. [Linda] In other words, do we only help them by being positive and in the now rather than get involved in their problems and try to help them? [Jovius] It is possible to get involved, but if you choose to solve problems for them, they will not learn to solve situations like this themselves. It is of a higher vibration to gently guide when those who are needy and have fallen. You can assist them back to their feet with the kindness and love they lack, in the times they need the support of one who is not brought down by their situation. [Linda] Are we not then always changing the Subject as if we are not interested in helping them? Linda (West Chester, Oh, USA) [Jovius] There is absolutely no need to change the Subject, no need at all. You can address the Subject with your words as well as your example. This is a multipronged approach. It is with love, kindness and support that you can offer your assistance. Sometimes all one needs is to know that you are with them. [Also -- I find it helpful to coach people through difficult times by telling them how I handled a similar situation. Maybe I did that by shifting my perspective to a more positive place. Or, even showing them how dwelling on the negative took the way I felt to a much lower place. This approach lets the friend know they've been heard, but it's often received more willingly than if they feel you are only focused on their situation and trying to tell them what to do, or making them wrong.
